Text Appeal: communication accidents
Text Appeal is a well known adaptation, localisation, translation and transcreation agency based in London. In other words, they make sure your big international campaign doesn’t end up as a culture shock in another country.
Duval Guillaume Antwerp created an entertaining video for Text Appeal. Elliot Polaks, CEO at Text Appeal, will give a speech at the Cannes Festival about ‘cultural disasters’ and use this video in his presentation. Have a look:
Change from head to toe with Bristol
Dutch clothes store chain Bristol has chosen Duval Guillaume Brussels for a restyling of their brand. Hero of the new campaign is the TV commercial ‘Switching Heads‘.
In this visually surprising commercial you see women swapping heads to wear each other’s outfit. Women always wish to wear the clothes of someone who is dressed better than they are. This insight served as an inspiration for the idea of changing clothes by changing heads.
In the commercial women change clothes by switching heads. In reality it’s better to visit a Bristol store. There you can find everything, from shoes to trousers, tops and accessories. We translated this to the campaign line “change from head to toe”.
The longest commercial in Duval Guillaume history
To announce the change from a big bank to a consumer-centric coaching bank, Dexia Bank asked Duval Guillaume to make a film for internal communication.
Duval Guillaume Brussels came up with a 13 minute film based on a well know tv-format, where a psychologists helps people to overcome their fears.
In our spoof of this TV show, we show a man working for Dexia who has to overcome his fear for personal contact with the client.
Bring back my body to me
Weight Watchers has their own way to attract the attention of men. Together with Duval Guillaume they created this video and e-mailed it to a database of 40.000 men, mainly readers of men’s magazines.
It is an amusing way to address weight issues towards a male audience. Entertaining one-to-one communication. Weight Watchers aims to invite men to try out the “Weight Watchers method”, change their lifestyle and feel better about themselves.
Senseo in Hollywood style
For the launch of the new flavor ‘Café Choco’, Senseo plays with the cliche’s of Hollywood films. Movielovers will be able to spot references to films such as “Bridges of Madison County”, “Sweet November”, “Seinfeld” and “Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind”.
You can watch the video “what women want” below. The senseo pads you’ll have to buy in your local supermarket.
The saga continues
Dexia Bank has been sponsoring the Belgian football club Club Brugge for the last five years, using the line: “Club Brugge, proud to be sponsored by Dexia.”
The first commercial on television dates from 2002 figuring football player Gert Verheyen and was awarded at Eurobest in Cannes and at several other award shows.
Today a 10 second television billboard is launched, together with a print ad as a follow up of this campaign.
