Duval Guillaume Modem in the spotlight on Facebook Studio
In March we launched the Flair Fashiontag, an application for Belgian Women’s magazine Flair. It was one of the first cases that was ever featured on the Facebook Studio website, right after Facebook launched it. And today Duval Guillaume Modem is in the spotlight again on the Facebook Studio with some more background on the application and the strategy behind it. Something for which Facebook had a chat with our own Mattijs Devroedt, Strategic Planner at Duval Guillaume Modem.

Don’t tag people, tag their clothes
Women are always looking for inspiration for their wardrobe and most of the time they find this inspiration by looking at other women.
This inspired women’s magazine Flair to develop the Flair Fashiontag. The Flair Fashiontag is a Facebook application: instead of tagging people, you can tag people’s clothes or accessories and ask them where they got them.
All fashiontags are displayed in a Facebook gallery, the best are published in the weekly magazine Flair. This way there is a constant interaction between the facebook application and the magazine itself.

Facebook profiles read like biographies, so we used them to promote biographies
To promote a new series of world biographies of De Morgen newspaper, we created facebook profiles of famous people. Through the facebook status we spread quotes and photo’s featured in the biographies. We also announced the release date of each book and triggered discussions by commenting on things happening in the world. If you became a facebook friend of Nicolas Sarkozy or Fidel Castro, you could learn to know them a bit. But only by getting the biography you learned to know them really well.

Facebook and advertising
