Eurobest: Komatsu, Scottex & Reborn to be alive win

Dec 04 2008

What do kitchen roll, industrial equipment and being dead have in common?
Not much. Except they’ve all had award-winning work made for them by Duval
Guillaume. The Eurobest jury gave Reborn to be Alive Bronze in Print, and
handed Scottex and Komatsu Bronze and Gold respectively in Direct. In
total, we were nominated 14 times for 11 different clients (the three above,
plus Axa, Dexia, Flair, Green Belgium, Lazer Helmets, Mediamarkt, Nikon and
Sporza). No other Belgian agency managed to get work recognised for so many
different clients.

Duval Guillaume helps you live forever.

Nov 21 2008

In many countries it’s normal to leave money to a good cause when you die. There are tax breaks, and you get to make a difference to more than just worms.

The EMO foundation was set up to help get the idea to catch on here in Belgium too. We made these two films with actors Jan De Cleir and Jacques Mercier to show how a charitable will (testament) helps your name live on, long after you’re gone.

Sign up as organ donor

Nov 07 2008

In Belgium the law concerning organ donation is very confusing. Everybody thinks he or she is automatically considered as a donor, but in fact you have to register to become an organ donor.

Reborn to be alive is campaigning to make everyone aware of the fact he or she has to sign up. Also to a male target audience. That’s why we placed the following ad in P-magazine, Belgium’s leading male magazine.

Sequel for Effie-winning radio campaign

Sep 25 2008

The new radio-commercials for Douwe Egberts coffee are the next step in the campaign “You are only fully awake after you had your Douwe Egberts Coffee”. In the previous spots we introduced the word “fockee” as a dyslectic form of “coffee”.

In the current spots we show the consequences of not being awake at work. If you don’t understand the commercials, it’s not because you haven’t had your coffee yet, it’s because they are in Dutch and French.

Inès Van Lautem starts as a planning and traffic manager to match work with people. Geert Theys is the technical project manager we were looking for.

Facebook STD

Apr 30 2008

080430_facebookstd.jpg

To raise awareness about the dangers of Chlamydia and promote STD Month to young people, Duval Guillaume in New York developed a Facebook application that allows the disease to spread organically from person-to-person.
With the ‘MorphMonkey’ application, users can “Make a Love Child” with each other, by morphing an image of their face with those of their friends. In this way however, the Chlamydia bacteria is spread to between users, who are notified of their infection and directed to the website of the American Social Health Association. Within the first few days, more than 50,000 people were ‘infected’ and it continues to spread.
To design the application, Duval Guillaume collaborated with a team of programmers at Stanford and Carleton Universities.

A walk-through video can be viewed here. Download the application here.

The campaign had quite some media attention.

Kagome 2008 campaign

Apr 25 2008

Kagome is a major Japanese brand currently launching their blended fruit & vegetable juices in the United States. After a successful 2007 campaign in Seattle that saw sales jump by 450%, Duval Guillaume in New York has put to air a new radio campaign building on the brand’s promise of “100% natural brainpower”.
This year, the campaign focuses on the notion that when you power your brain with the nutrients in Kagome juice, you power your imagination.

It is alleged that the creatives were forced to raid a local grocery store for the production of the spots.

In-store work for the brand will appear in the coming month.

Big Apple, Big Waffle

Apr 25 2008

Over the past year, the Belgian Wafels & Dinges truck has become a familiar sight in New York City, selling the original Brussels and Liege Waffles on the streets. On your waffle you can get ‘dinges’, which is Flemish for ‘stuff’.

To gain some extra attention for the mobile vendor, Duval Guillaume in New York took to the streets with a bucket of acrylic paint turning the city’s grills into Belgian waffles.
