Girls going wild in red light district

Apr 04 2012

Amsterdam is famous for it’s red light district. A lot of tourists walk around and have a look at this curious neighbourhood. They often see the prostitutes as a kind of entertainment, every day hundreds of ‘windowshoppers’ from all over the world take a stroll on the Amsterdam canals. Not that long ago they got to see this:

With this campaign Stop The Traffik wants to make people aware that a lot of these girls are victims of human trafficking and end up in prostitution against their will.

It is a sad fact and ads like this is what is needed to make people aware that many of the girls are there against thier will. It is something we do not like to confront and want to make it somebody else’s business, like the authorities should deal with it, but the truth of the matter is we all should deal with it, we can’t turn a blind eye just becuase it is not our duaghters or sisters being exploite, truth be told, they are somebody’s daughter or sister.

Yes I saw that. Not in the Red Light District though, but where you were shooting your commercial. Your cause is good, as is the idea for your film. Pretending it is footage of an actual event isn’t.

Highly efffective to watch on screen.  I was not sure whether the viewers on the street were given the Stop the Traffik message, or whether they had to work out for themselves that these girls wanted to be dancers but had been forced into prostitution.

They also saw the message. When they stop dancing you can see a banner appear above the windows right before the video zooms in on that message on screen.

Smart campaign – society as a whole needs to wake up and realise the truth of what is going on in the horrendous inhumane industry.   This is a very effective way to creatively entice the viewer but also plant the seed for further research and exploring.  So many individuals lives are effected immensely by the evil actions of those involved in procuring and stealing freedom. If you are one who frequently visits brothels be truthful to yourself and find out if the soul which you are staining ifs forced against their will!!!
