Get ‘Fokkie’ in the dictionary
Thanks to the 3 year long ‘fokkie’ campaign for Douwe Egberts, ‘fokkie’, and its french equivalent ‘faké’, have become regularly used words. Time to make it offical.
We started a petition to get these words into the official Dutch and French dictionary. The petition is supported by 3 radio commercials and a special Facebook fan page. You can help us to reach our goal by signing the petition on www.fokkietje.be or www.unpetitfake.be.

Geachte heren reclamemakers,Laat ons duidelijk zijn: ik hou van fokkie, en ik hou van uw reclames. Ik vraag mijn collega’s ook altijd of er iemand trek heeft in een fokkietje - hoewel wij geen Sara Lee merk drinken op het werk. Toch bedank ik beleefd, als iemand mij vraagt (via een radiospot of e-mailing, bijvoorbeeld) om de petitie te tekenen. Op uw campagne valt, uiteraard, niets aan te merken. Goed idee, en het zou een goede marketing stunt zijn indien het woord weldegelijk in het woordenboek wordt opgenomen. Maar, dan kan iedereen, mits een groot marketing budget en het juiste bureau onder de arm, zijn product- of merknaam in het woordenboek der Nederlandse taal krijgen. Is het echt nodig om onze taal te verkopen aan de hoogst biedende? mvg mvr
